EU4Skills Project Organizes a Technical Meeting with ESPRIT
As part of the ongoing efforts of the EU4Skills project to strengthen digital skills and link education with the labour market in Libya, a technical meeting was held on Monday and Tuesday, 2–3 February 2026, bringing together ESPRIT University and Libyan academics and faculty members who received capacity-building training at the university under Component Two of the project.
Among those in attendance were H.E. Dr. Saleh Al-Ghoul, Deputy Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Mr. Mohamed Ahmed Al-Aswad, Deputy Programs Director at Expertise France, as well as a number of deans from different Libyan universities.
The meeting opened with a review of the achievements made within the capacity-building activities and the updated training programmes implemented by Expertise France in cooperation with ESPRIT University, in addition to discussions on upcoming activities within the framework of this partnership. The meeting also aimed to align visions around future needs for developing digital curricula in Libya, ensuring that all Libyan students acquire the minimum required digital skills to keep pace with global economic transformation.
The agenda included a discussion session on the roles and responsibilities of partners, as well as the awarding of certificates to Libyan professors who participated in digital curriculum development and vocational training programmes. On the second day, participants also took part in a field visit to ESPRIT University laboratories to explore the latest educational technologies in use.
This activity is part of the EU4Skills project, funded by the European Union with co-funding from the French Government and implemented by Expertise France, aiming to strengthen the capacities of Libyan institutions to achieve sustainable economic development and bridge the skills gap between graduates and the labour market.
