Supporting Curriculum Development and Capacity Building in Water and Agriculture
A workshop on improving academic curricula and building capacities in sustainable water management, agriculture, and digital agriculture was held over two days, Wednesday and Thursday, 19–20 August, with the participation of several Libyan universities.
The workshop provided a space to review curriculum development proposals submitted by a number of Libyan universities, identify shared priorities and gaps in skills and competencies, and explore ways to integrate modern technologies into academic programmes, including artificial intelligence, the Internet of Things, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), remote sensing, and smart irrigation.
The workshop sessions also covered smart and digital agriculture technologies, sustainable water resources management and modern irrigation, the green and blue economies, educational innovation, and the development of academic programmes and courses to better align them with the needs of key sectors.
This activity is part of the EU4Skills project, funded by the European Union with a financial contribution from the French Government and implemented by Expertise France, in partnership with relevant Libyan institutions, to support skills development and enhance employment opportunities in Libya.
